Deep tech innovation body Digital Catapult has opened a new west of England office located at Bristol and Bath Science Park.
The site, serving South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Bath, reflects the organisation’s growing activity in the South West and Wales it stated.
Its extensive commitments in the region include delivery of the £30 million MyWorld programme with three local universities – Bristol, Bath and the University of the West of England (UWE).
It has also been the catalyst for more than £28 million investment raised by South West based SMEs. Additionally, its work with Bristol university on the REASON and JOINER projects aims to accelerate commercial deployment of future 6G technologies.
Mayor of the West of England Helen Godwin said: “Digital Catapult establishing a permanent base here is great news for the West of England.
“Our regional growth strategy and the government’s industrial strategy recognise our strengths in aerospace, the creative industries, and energy, as well as our potential to lead the adoption and deployment of advanced digital technologies including an AI Supercluster. This new office will build on those strengths.”
Digital Catapult recently announced a new partnership with the Centre for Modelling and Simulation (CFMS) combining its capabilities with Digital Catapult own expertise and Digital Twin Centre.
