16 Jan 2013
London - Alfa Laval has won an order from the South Korean shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) to supply its Aalborg heaters to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) which will be built in Korea.
The order, booked in the Marine & Offshore Systems segment, is worth approximately SEK130 million and delivery is scheduled for 2013.
The Aalborg heaters are the largest in the company’s product range, and they will be used to preheat gas condensate prior to the processing onboard.
The FPSO is being built by DSME in South Korea - one of the world’s leading contractors specialized in building offshore platforms, drilling rigs and FPSO vessels.
The FPSO, owned by the Japanese oil giant INPEX is part of their Ichthys project and will be stationed offshore Western Australia.
The vessel has a production design life of 40 years and an estimated production capacity of 100,000 barrels of gas condensate per day.
