Schad forms global partnership with Invensys

London - Mobile application developer Schad has announced that its mobile SCADA and maintenance solution product, Extend7000 Mobile SCADA, has achieved registered partner status with Invensys Operations Management.
Extend7000 filters alarms from SCADA and PLC systems and notifies maintenance engineers of unplanned failures of automation equipment.
By integrating this with CMMS, maintenance teams can respond to alarms and process work orders in a single workflow on a mobile device, according to Schad.
The integration of unplanned and planned maintenance on a single mobile device helps organisations optimise resources and make more informed decisions based on accurate and real-time information, the company claims.
“[The product’s] ability to monitor and manage assets remotely, using a variety of mobile devices, is anticipated to be an appealing feature for our end users,” said Dan Fitzpatrick, business development manager for Invensys.
The certification and approved means users can now get a new seemless level of integration users to monitor and control Wonderware SCADA systems using a mobile device, according to James Hannay managing director of Schad Ltd.
End users can, he said, “be confident there are no compatibility issues or extra customisation required. “The benefit of this partnership for end users is that the Invensys user community now has a standard product for mobile use that is approved by Invensys.”
Hannay went on to point out that Schad also has a partnership with IBM, so users can integrate SCADA maintenance with planned maintenance using systems like IBM Maximo.
“At the moment there are very few mobile SCADA solutions and this partnership will have a big impact helping companies to improve uptime and worker productivity,” he commented.
