Tufnol invests in Lean training

The laminates, composites and engineering plastics manufacturer is undergoing a training initiative to improve the skills of its workforce.
The programme, delivered by LEAD Ltd, encourages participation and input for all employees with each member of staff receiving 6 additional qualifications upon completion.
Roy Thomason, Tufnol’s managing director, explained: “Currently we’re running four projects, with one of them, for example, focusing on a total re-organisation of one of our machine shops.”
“This will mean that not only are we extending our capabilities, but making significant cost-savings in the process,” he added.
