Bespoke mixing

JR Boone has developed a bespoke mixer solution for investment casting specialist Clan Ceramics.
The mixer solution from JR Boone is designed for Clan Ceramics’ global ceramic core process and material supply business, including high-temperature and multi-stage mixing with vacuum processing.
As part of the transaction, JR Boone developed a variation on its horizontal paddle blade mixer (HPBM) for Clan Ceramics, which incorporated an insulated jacket, heating system and a vacuum pump for the final part of the mixing process.
Clan Ceramics technical director John Morris said: “The amount of testing we were able to do with JR Boone helped tremendously. We have been able to reduce mixing time by 25%.”
