Advantech has launched its APAX-5580 DIN-Rail IPC, which it claims is an industry first.
It is a PC-based control platform with comprehensive I/O modules, communication ports and control software for choice.
It is particularly designed for integrating Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) to take advantage of the trend in Industry 4.0.
The APAX-5580 includes an Intel Celeron 1.6GHz/Core i3/Core 1.7GHz processor, 4GB DDR3 memory, and a range of ports for a variety of applications.
It is a totally modular system which can help developers build a system with a complete APAX product line to suit their needs without complicating their system infrastructure, an “industry first” according to Advantech.
The battery module allows the APAX-5580 to continue operation for up to two hours in the event of a power failure.
