Refractometers are used in many industrial processes for product quality control and assurance, such as monitoring the concentration of dissolved solids and controlling liquid blending ratios.
The PRH refractometer from Bellingham and Stanley Process Instruments is designed to continuously monitor the quality of its sapphire prism surface, with the facility to trigger alarms linked to performance.
It is also sealed against moisture and dust, and the prism and flow chamber are designed to withstand rigorous cleaning conditions and typical line pressures.
It uses temperature compensation to counteract fluctuations in product temperature.
The LED display can show alarm conditions as well as the concentration or product temperature.
The instrument is made from 316 stainless steel and the construction materials and seals have been selected for widespread product compatibility, and fully meet industry standards for hygiene and safety.
It also functions without frequent calibration.
