The ORACLE Fat Analyser from CEM received the IFT17 Food Expo Innovation Award from the Institute of Food Technologists at its annual meeting held in Las Vegas this year.
A panel of expert judges from academia, industry and government, picked the ORACLE from more than 40 entries, highlighting its revolutionary technology for high scientific merit, time and cost benefits, and green credentials.
This prestigious award from the non-profit scientific society, with more than 17,000 members in more than 95 countries, represents an acknowledgement of the ORACLE’s efficacy from the people who really understand its field of application – the food scientists and technologists themselves, says the company.
The ORACLE, introduced in October 2016, utilises breakthrough NMR technology to produce a rapid fat analyser that can monitor fat in any unknown sample in 30 seconds, with reference chemistry accuracy and repeatability, while requiring no method development. CEM says that the ORACLE stands poised to become the new worldwide standard for fat testing, replacing classical chemical methods, such as NIR and FT-IR.
The analyser meets the strict demands of today’s food industry, adds CEM, combining speed, accuracy and safety improvements.
Michael J Collins, president and CEO of CEM Corporation, said he was delighted by the award and predicted that the ORACLE will “change the landscape in terms of food testing and will have an impact that will be felt across the whole industry on a global basis”.
