Hosokawa Gen4 has built on the success of its mobile app to launch a digital twin of Hosokawa’s air classifier mill (ACM).
The digital twin is connected to its real-world counterpart and is used to understand the state of the mill, respond to changes, improve efficiency and add value.
The highly-efficient, variable speed, dynamic integral air classifier operates in the medium to fine particle size reduction range and achieves a steep particle size distribution with minimum ultra-fines, says the company.
Believed to be the first of its kind, the digital twin allows customers to simulate processing in full and to manage processes off-site; including data capture, analysis and interrogation, remote monitoring, performance improvement and increased plant control.
Launched at the POWTECH 2017 exhibition, the Hosokawa Gen4 digital twin uses Siemens’ MindSphere industrial cloud to support customers seeking to make their manufacturing processes more streamlined, consistent and cost-effective.
