As part of an ‘Innovation Showcase’ event hosted by the Department for International Trade (DIT), and held during this week’s State Visit by the King and Queen of the Netherlands, the successful collaboration between Jacopa and Dutch company Bosker was praised with two highly significant contract wins cited.
A press statement read: “The UK’s Jacopa Ltd has established an agreement with the Netherlands’ Machinefabriek Bosker en Zonen BV (Bosker) to sell the latter’s internationally renowned water and wastewater automatic screen equipment into UK environmental and water utility markets. Bosker, in return, will offer Jacopa’s Jones & Attwood grit removal and sewage treatment equipment in Dutch markets.”
Jacopa managing director Alex Lloyd responded: “The fruitful collaboration between Bosker and Jacopa has already resulted in several major installations in the UK and the Netherlands being built, making a significant contribution to governments’ resilience objectives for national infrastructure and safeguarding highly-skilled jobs in both the UK and the Netherlands.
“Now, building on this recent success, two further exciting contract wins can be announced. The first in the UK entails a project to protect a large pumping installation and mitigating the risk of uncontrolled sewage discharge to the environment.
“The second contract is for a UK utility where Bosker’s technology is to be deployed to protect the treatment process from weeds and algae, providing a safer working environment for operatives and delivering important environmental and sustainability benefits for the wider population.”
UK International Trade Secretary, Dr Liam Fox, said: “The Innovation Showcase will demonstrate the huge opportunities for our economies – two of the world’s most innovative – to collaborate even further, creating jobs and prosperity for generations to come.”
