BPMA postpones Pump Industry Awards till next year

The Pump Industry Awards has been postpoined for a second time following the Government’s recent extension of restrictions intended to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
It had been due to be staged in early December but organisers say the timing will now be shifted to 25 March 2021.
In a statement, event host the British Pump Manufacturers’ Association and organiser Touchwave Media explained the decision had been taken after considering “the complex nature of the event and the amount of time and effort spent in its planning, promotion, and delivery”.
Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth will again play host to this special evening, with the move heralding a return to the usual early spring timing for the awards ceremony. The event will now be branded as the 2020/21 Pump Industry Awards.
Commenting on the decision, event director Andrew Castle said: ”The health and safety of our guests and attendees has of course always been a priority, although the credibility and presentation of the overall awards programme has also been an important consideration, especially as we look to celebrate its 20th anniversary.”
He continued, “But with the latest round of restrictions clearly impacting on all events of this type, postponing our presentation ceremony to next year is clearly the best and only option. I would again thank everyone for their continued support and understanding during these extraordinary times.”
