Schaeffler chosen for UN’s sustainability leaders list

The United Nations has selected the Schaeffler Group as one of its 50 global sustainability & climate leaders worldwide, to mark the UN’s 75th anniversary.
“For us, the appointment of the Schaeffler Group by the UN as one of the Sustainability & Climate Leaders is not just recognition of the work we have done to date, but both an incentive and an obligation to continue implementing our sustainability strategy with the utmost consistency,” said Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG (pictured).
“As part of this impressive initiative, we will do everything in our power to realise our sustainability and climate targets and thus make our contribution to achieving the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations.”
Admission into the cohort of leaders requires a defined sustainability strategy with corresponding corporate objectives.
Schaeffler, which will represent the automotive and industrial supplier sector in the so-called ‘DACH’ region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), attributes its inclusion to two factors: the ecological footprint of its production facilities and the company’s development and production of technologies for the optimal use of renewable energies contributing to climate protection.
Schaeffler’s components, systems, and service solutions make specific contributions to sustainable changes in a wide range of industries – for example, in the electrification of the powertrain for vehicles or in the manufacturing of large-sized bearings for wind turbines.
