With its diversity of exhibiting companies across the mechanical engineering and electronics sectors, Southern Manufacturing & Electronics stands apart in the calendar of shows in the UK.
It is also the organisers’ largest annual engineering and technology event, due to open its doors again from 7 to 9 February 2023 at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre. It will co-locate as usual with AutoAero, a specialist aerospace and automotive engineering area.
As in previous years, the show will feature a vast array of machinery, automation, mechanical and electronic components, tooling, measuring equipment, industrial hardware, controls and drives, business and engineering software, and subcontracting services from all over the UK, continental Europe, the Americas and Asia. In previous years, hundreds of companies of all sizes have presented their wares to around 9,000 visitors during the three-day event.
Automation and process efficiency have taken on a new sense of urgency as manufacturers strive to find ways to do more with less after the pandemic. Furthermore, as processes become more connected, so also do their vulnerability to attack. Solutions to these and a plethora of other issues facing businesses, such as smart ways to reduce energy consumption, will be found at this all-encompassing show.
Despite the variety of technologies and services around the showground, there are no barriers between the different areas. Visitors are therefore able to move freely between the engineering disciplines and perhaps learn about unfamiliar technologies and services.
Admission to the exhibition and car parking are free of charge.
