Safety system products for process plant protection are a major feature of the Hima-Sella (enter 400 on enquiry card) stand B170, where in addition to the company's range of control panels, SCADA and PLC system solutions, automation and 'Fail Safe' radio remote control, four new HIMA products are on show.
These comprise a new product range for safety critical and safety related applications compliant with the draft IEC61508 standard, which uses HIMA's new Hi QUAD technology; the HIMA-A1, Mini PES (Programmable Electronic System) with 32 I/Os suitable for SIL2 applications; and a new programming language.
A development of the popular HIMA-F series dynamic Fail Safe Logic is also available, complete with additional features for communications and monitoring.
Pilz (401) is another company featuring safety control systems, with the launch of the PSS 3032 programmable, compact safety controller which features a three-channel diverse structure within a single housing.
This is joined on stand G70 by the SafetyBUS p, proven industrial bus system for safe transmission of data and a new range of PIPANEL compact industrial computers for machine control or man-machine-interface use with SCADA software. The range can be supplied with an integrated keyboard or touchscreen.
New safety enclosures are featured from Briticent (402), which is launching the Ensto CUBO C of IP66/67-rated polycarbonate enclosures featuring flange knockouts. Also new are the CUBO Ex enclosures, which are explosion-proof versions of the CUBO O range These are on view on stand F15 together with a selection of CUBO S, D and O range enclosures.
Making their first UK appearance are also a range of Ensto enclosed switches and ultra-compact switches up to 125amps.
Celebrating the company's 15th anniversary at the show, Bartec (UK) (403) is best known for its Ex safety control equipment and trace heating systems. This range however has now been extended with the arrival of several new products under the EEx and ComEx banners.
Designed to detect leakage of electro-conductive liquids, the EEx monitor unit RDA 01 is an industry standard DIN rail mounting, which can detect liquids with a conductivity of 2ms/cm, or greater which sounds an internal piezo alarm on leak detection.
The MMI and alphanumeric display ranges for hazardous areas is now extended with the arrival of the EEx d PC temperature class T4, with Zone 1 compatibility. Pre-loaded with Windows 95 and featuring an Intel Pentium II processor running at 166 mHz, the unit features a 14.5-inch screen, removable keyboard and mouse, with 1.4Gb storage and 32mb. Suitable for both NT and Ethernet operation, the EEx d does not require pressurisation.
