Russell's finest

Russell Finex filters have been used to improve process efficiency and hygiene levels on Horlicks production lines at the SmithKline Beecham Slough site.
Some 17million kg of Horlicks powder are manufactured each year at the Slough site using a production process which involves several stages of mashing, milk addition, evaporation and drying.
An E80 filter is used to filter impurities and halt contamination of Horlicks liquor after the evaporation stage and is in production 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, achieving flow rates of between 5000 and 9000litres/hr. It has an automatic dump valve and timer release which boosts flow rates and allows continuous operation.
The self-cleaning filters feature a motorised paddle assembly to continuously wipe clean the microscreen, clearing the apertures and keeping pressure build-up to a minimum.
