Remote field controllers for Ethernet connections
15 Jan 2000
From Phoenix Contact come remote field controllers with Ethernet connection. Part of the company's Interbus Open Control range, the remote controllers, with IEC 1131 control intelligence and network connection, create the basis for decentralised modular automation.
As a compact industrial PC, the remote field controller (RFC) carries out complex comtrol and automation tasks in the bus. The universal networking in the field and control level is undertaken by the Interbus system. The RFC with Ethernet connection can be used to establish a direct connection to the cell and control level via TCP/IP.
Such a direct connection between Interbus and Ethernet reduces hierarchical levels and costs.
According to Phoenix Contact, the RFC is the ideal solution when locally-networked, PC-based controllers without visualisation are needed.
