Vibration-proof cell for stability
15 Jan 2000
A new generation of Smart Force Transducers (SFT2) from K-Tron uses the resonant frequency of a wire under tension to measure and compensate its own inaccuracies due to background plant vibration.
Any vibration can amplify itself and lead to weighing inaccuracies, so this sensor uses digital filtering with variable cut off frequency to suppress in-plant vibration, removing the need for expensive installation that traditional loss in weight systems often require.
The SFT2 combines digital measurement with stable, accurate weight sensing, together with simple, zero-loss serial data communications, claims the company.
The SFT2 is suitable for feeding, batching and metering applications even in hostile plant environments.
