A double dose of dough
3 May 2000
Warburton's Tyne bakery is using a double dough detection system designed by Lucas Power & Control with ultrasonic sensors from Siemens Automation and Drives. As dough is placed in each compartment of the baking tray a double dose of dough may occur which overloads the baking tray with further damaging implications down the line. The system is based on a M18 ultrasonic sensor which enables accurate sensing just above the single dough line compared to photosensors which often sense the ridge of the baking tin. The detection system has also been integrated into the control system.
