No danger of a high output

Nobel Systems' new AST3 IS weight transmitter has now been granted Cenelec approval for use with load cells and weighing systems located in hazardous areas.
Meeting Eex ia requirements, the transmitter contains its own power-limiting circuits. There is no need to use external intermediate zener safety barriers or galvanic isolators. Also, as no safety earth is needed - as is the case with zener barriers- savings can be made in wiring.
CE-marked and fully EMC-compliant, the transmitter converts the output from load cells into stable digital and high level analogue signals. It communicates with RS485 and Modbus protocol at up to 115kbaud and can be connected to other fieldbuses via the Nobel gateway translator module GATE3.
