Rospen dust containment suits metal powder at GKN
22 Aug 2000
Rospen Industries' recent merger with Copeland Process Equipment has enhanced its ability to handle dust containment problems, it says. The firm has demonstrated this with a project to control metal dust at GKN Sinter's new processing plant.
The operation handles fine powders of iron, copper, tin, graphite and zinc stearate, and several weighing and transfer operations are involved. Space is tight and safety at a premium.
Rospen's solution uses a Rootes-type exhauster to provide motive air for a vacuum transfer system. Each pair of storage hoppers contains high and low-level dust detection and a reverse jet bag filter to separate out the transport air.
