New Competitively Priced Redundant Ring 5 & 8 port Industrial Managed Ethernet Switches For Reliable Ethernet Solutions
IT4Automation has recently introduced a new range of competitively priced Redundant Ring Industrial Ethernet switches from Moxa Networking.
The new EDS405A/408A series switches are available with either 5 or 8 ports and come in a rugged metal housing, with DIN-Rail mounting capability, IP30 protection and dual redundant 24 Vdc power inputs.
The switches are easy to use and configure and offer a cost-effective solution for industrial applications requiring resilient network capability. By using Moxa patented ‘Turbo-Ring’ technology or RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol), robust fast recovering redundant ring networks can easily be set up to give users highly reliable Ethernet networks.
Switches are available in two variants, one with all RJ45 ports and one with a combination of RJ45 ports and 2 fiber ports. The fiber ports allow extended transmission distances of up to 2km (with multi-mode fiber) or 40km/80km (with single-mode fiber). Switches can be specified with either SC or ST style fiber connectors.
The switches also offer some useful advanced network management functions including port based VLANs, QOS traffic prioritisation, Port Mirroring and SNMP network management, all configurable via the built-in web browser.
All devices feature an operating temperature range from 0°C to 60°C, making them suitable for most industrial environments. In addition extended temperature versions with a -40°C to 75°C operating temperature are also available for more extreme environments.
They are ideal for most network requirements including, linking together PLC’s, DCS’s, HMI’s and any Ethernet based Control equipment or Instrumentation. They are suitable for use in many diverse markets including Oil & Gas, Power Industry, Factory Automation, Process Control, Machine Control, Transportation and Building Automation.
