Rugged Industrial Grade ADSL Router : IPL-AD2 series.
27 Apr 2007
IT4Automation has recently introduced a range of Industrial ADSL routers from ETIC Telecom. For some time now there has been a demand for an Industrial grade ADSL router which would allow the use of ADSL broadband links in remote and harsh Industrial environments. Conventional office/home ADSL router devices were just not reliable or robust enough to meet the requirements of many industrial applications.
An IPL-AD2 industrial grade ADSL router enables you to connect multiple industrial devices safely and permanently across the Internet using high speed broadband links (ADSL 2+) offering a superior performance to traditional dial up modems (56K) or expensive private/ISDN or fixed line communication links.
It is ideal for use with broadband services to upgrade Telemetry, remote access and CCTV/security links.
The router comes with built-in Firewall and VPN support functions giving the device powerful network security capabilities. These built-in features allow user authentication, data encryption and data integrity checking. The firewall allows only authorized remote access, whilst protecting the network from unauthorized or malicious intrusions.
The router is an industrial-grade product designed to reduce downtime and to cope with harsh environmental conditions. It is packaged in a DIN Rail Mounting rugged metal housing, is dc powered (9 to 40Vdc), so it can be powered from batteries or solar/wind power generating devices.
It incorporates built-in over voltage protection to prevent damage to the device from surges coming down the telephone line.
The standard router has four 10/100 Base TX Ethernet ports for equipment connection. There are other versions available which also offer RS232, RS485 and USB inputs and versions which can control an external modem (PSTN, ISDN GPRS or GSM) for back up redundant communications.
With an operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C the router is suitable for arduous outdoor applications.
They are ideal for most network requirements including linking together PLC’s, HMI’s and any Ethernet based CCTV, Control equipment or Instrumentation.
They are suitable for use in many diverse markets including the Process, Power, Transportation, Security and Building Automation industries.
