E-T-A introduces a newly designed PCB to reduce wiring times of 19" racks
26 Jun 2007
E-T-A Circuit Breakers has introduced a newly designed printed circuit board (PCB) for the E-T-A 19BGT 19" rack. This addition to E-T-A’s range of system solutions offers a cost-effective approach for applications in factory automation, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and telecommunications, by reducing wiring times.
The new E-T-A PCB has been designed for an array of single-pole or double-pole circuit breakers with a maximum of 30 poles in total. This allows for wiring of up to 30 channels using single-pole circuit breakers, up to 15 channels with double-pole circuit breakers, or twice 15 channels of single-pole when used redundantly with two separate circuits.
Instead of time-consuming individual wiring of supply feed, auxiliary contacts, load outputs and various special functions, the new PCBs, with integral terminal blocks, offer fast and professional connection in control cabinets. The terminal blocks are soldered on to the front of the PCB: on the rear side the PCB features integral terminals. Wiring of the rack is more compact and may be carried out much faster. Also, the risk of wiring errors is minimised. An integral pull relief in the rack ensures resistance of the PCB against mechanical strain under harsh everyday conditions.
A number of E-T-A overcurrent protection products may be used in connection with this printed circuit board: electronic circuit breaker type ESS20, electronic circuit protector ESX10, thermal-magnetic circuit breaker types 2210, 3600 and 3900, or the solid state remote power controller E-1048-700. The maximum supply current is four times 50A, with a maximum of 20A per load output.
