Gas analysers for Drax power station
22 Apr 2009
Selby, UK - Drax Power has ordered the installation of eight Servomex gas analysers for its coal-efficient power station. The Servotough Fluegas (2700) units, optimised to measure both 02 and COe, have been installed to monitor the oxygen burn mix for the combustion boilers at Drax Power Station in Selby, Yorkshire.
By monitoring combustion processes more closely, Drax engineers will be able to control the optimum burn mix more accurately. The analyser monitors combustion processes by using a combination of a zirconium oxide cell for measuring oxygen and a patented ‘thick film' catalytic sensor for combustibles such as CO equivalents and COe.
The analyser is designed for high-temperature operation up to 1,750°C in a range of applications including process heaters, utility boilers, thermal crackers and incinerators.
Servomex will also provide full service and support - including installation and commissioning - for the analysers, which replace obsolete products that had become unsupportable.
