Event targets access to £15m carbon abatement funding
11 May 2009
London - The Technology Strategy Board, The Northern Way and the Department of Energy and Climate Change are co-hosting a one-day workshop to help business access £15 million of funding from their upcoming Carbon Abatement Technologies (CATs) competition to be launched in June 2009.
The national workshop and brokering event is to take place in Leeds on 18 May. The funding is to help companies grow or diversify existing business or create new market entrants. The competition is aimed at a range of industrial sectors and their supply chains including power generation, process & chemical industries and oil & gas.
As well as large businesses, the competition will provide significant opportunities for SMEs and researchers wishing to apply and develop their expertise in this emerging technology area.
According to the organisers, the meeting is particularly targeting organisations that are large emitters of CO2 and currently involved in the R&D of CATs or their application. This includes large industry producers of CO2, OEMs, component makers, materials producers, developers of control, materials, instrumentation and condition monitoring technologies, as well as companies involved in the transport, storage and use of CO2.
