MCERTS attracts growing interest despite downturn

London - Visitor numbers for the recent MCERTS air monitoring event came in 10% higher than the previous show in 2007, according to the organisers. The event held 29-30 April at Bretby, Staffordshire, was the fifth in a series of MCERTS events, which are jointly organised with the Environment Agency, Environmental Technology Publications and the Source Testing Association (STA).
The oragnisers linked the event's attractiveness to industry's need to stay up to speed with the latest regulatory information as well as a requirements to check out the latest monitoring technologies and network with people facing the same challenges of self-monitoring by operators.
"Prior to the event we were concerned that visitor numbers might be reduced as a result of the recession, so it was very pleasing to note that delegate numbers have continued to grow," said MCERTS organiser Dave Curtis of STA - a non-profit making organisation with over 200 corporate member companies from process operators, regulators, equipment suppliers and test laboratories.
