Piquant adds mayonnaise production capacity

Walsall, UK – Piquant Ltd, a Walsall-based manufacturer of coleslaws and dressed salads, mayonnaise, dips and dressings, has recently purchased a Romaco FrymaKoruma MaxxD machine from the Swiss OEM’s UK and Ireland agent, Moody Direct.
The new machine is being used to increase the company’s mayonnaise production capacity following recent contract wins. The product is also manufactured using Romaco FryMakoruma equipment. The MaaxD vacuum processing unit is claimed to offer consistently high product quality with shorter batch cycles, minimal operating costs, low space requirements and simple operation.
Much of the mayonnaise produced in the UK is manufactured on FrymaKoruma processing machines, according to Andrew Strange, Moody Direct sales manager, Romaco FrymaKoruma. Piquant, he said, chose to purchase the MaxxD system as the existing FrymaKoruma machine has performed well and offers the flexibility to produce a range from 80% oil mayonnaise to low-oil-content products.
Piquant managing director Shan Nagengram said: “In order to better serve our growing customer base, we decided to extend that range with further investment in a FrymaKoruma MaxxD system … with the addition of this technology we are now able to increase our production of existing products as well as our facility to carry out bespoke projects.”
