Imtech to acquire Capula

Gouda, The Netherlands - Royal Imtech NV is to acquire Capula in a move intended to extend its position in the UK technical services arena. With around 180 employees and annual revenue of around £40 million, Capula is currently owned by private equity firm Dunedin (74%), with the company’s management owning the remaining 26%
Headquartered in Stone, Staffordshire, Capula also has regional branches in Gloucester, Cumbria, Aldermaston and Aberdeen as well as site offices at various customer locations. It specialises in process automation within the energy and utility markets, including for nuclear power plants, water treatment works and renewable energy plants, as well as power distribution and power grids.
Capula is also active in complex technical facilities in the environmental, wastewater treatment, and industrial oil and gas markets, including countless offshore drilling platforms in the North Sea. Major customers include: Drax, Alstom, National Grid, United Utilities, Areva, Thames Water, ABB, Scottish and Southern Energy, Yorkshire Water, British Energy, AMEC, Waste to Resources and Scottish Power.

With 3,300 employees in the UK, Imtech is one of the country’s largest providers of technical services. Its activities include technical management and maintenance in the fields of energy, wastewater treatment, buildings, industry and ICT.
